Since March 2008, we have won a Beautiful Beer Award, Cask Marque status and have featured regularly in the Good Beer Guide.  We have up to five well kept real ales available, including local beers as well as the resident Timothy Taylor Landlord.

Real Ales

Timothy Taylor Landlord

4.3% ABV A Classic Strong Pale Ale, Landlord has won more awards nationally than any other beer: our resident draught beer.

Adnams Southwold Bitter

3.7% ABV A beautiful copper-coloured beer, brewed with locally sourced pale ale malted barley and hopped with Fuggles hops.

Adnams Ghost Ship

4.5% ABV This beer has a pithy bitterness with a malty backbone and a lemon and lime aroma.

Young’s Bitter

3.7% ABV Light and dry in flavour with a subtle taste of hops.

Adnams Mosaic

4.1% ABV Made with, you guessed it, Mosaic hops, this pale blonde has bags of personality with bold mango, peach, lemon and pine flavours and a dry hoppy finish.

Red Wines

£28 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Deep red in colour, complex with aromas of jammy black fruits and spicy overtones. Rich and full bodied.

£19 Shiraz – Gumnut

Lifted berry and spiced plum aromas with notes of red fruits, pepper and oak.

£16 Merlot – Vina Lupina

This merlot has enticing aromas of forest fruits and hints of spice on the nose.

£20 Malbec – Argento

Ripe bramble and spicy blackberry notes on the nose are echoed on the richly textured palate, with hints of vanilla oak and balanced acidity on the finish.

White Wines

Brilliant benchmark unoaked Chablis with clean, incisive Chardonnay fruit: green apples, hints of honey, citrus and just a whisper of richness.

Adnams Copper House

Adnams Rising Sun

Made from malted rye, this gin has been produced using the London Dry method. We’ve added Japanese Matcha Tea, lemongrass and juniper berries to the finished spirit together with a specially selected blend of botanicals (orange peel, ginger, grains of paradise, cubeb, angelica). Rising Sun Gin is refreshing and full of natural aromatic flavours, best served with a good tonic and garnished with ginger and lime zest.

Hand crafted in small batches. Sipsmith? Why "Sipsmith"? Well, much the same as wordsmiths like to craft all things wordical, we craft all things sippical. Like gin.


This handcrafted gin is distilled from a proprietary recipe which includes traditional botanicals such as juniper, coriander and citrus peel. The "unexpected" infusion of cucumber and rose petals result in a most inconoclastic gin.

Adnams First Rate Gin

Handcrafted and copper stilled in the heart of Southwold. By adding thirteen carefully selected botanicals to our gold medal longshire vodka and re-stilling in our copper pot still, we create a gin of exceptional quality and character.

Edinburgh Gin

Distilled in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, this gin is crafted from the finest quality grain spirit with a unique blend of Scottish botanicals. A classic gin with a citrusy nose, a subtle note of heather and a burst of juniper.
